OMFG! Since when, I mean, since when did Singaporeans speak better English? With all the 'ya lar, ya lo, why leh and who har ....' It is hard to understand and be convinced that Singaporeans speak better English now. What a JOKE. Yes, a joke. With all the le, la, lo, leh and har, I don't think Singapore is ready to tell the whole world that we are speaking good English now.
I still hear many inconsiderate and rude Singaporeans speaking to each other in le lah or lor. Oh, and how could we miss out the teenage wannabe punks who speak in such fascinating language. The best part is Singaporeans just like to translate their Mandarin sentences into English sentences which make it sound and look weird. Maybe we are born to be translators one day. :p
Come on. Singaporeans will NEVER be able to speak good English UNLESS they learn. With all the broken English and Singlish in the picture, it's hard for Singaporeans to speak better or even perfect English.
I am not bringing down (sad to say) my own nation and my fellow country mates. But if we are more down to earth and look into reality and yes indeed, we can't speak proper English.
Foreigners especially Caucasians don't even understand what we are talking about and we are oblivious to that.
Ironically, Singaporeans are bloody proud of their so-called English a.k.a Singlish.
Come on, wake up Singapore, it's time to speak good English and save your last piece of diginity and pride as a Singaporean who can and is able to speak proper English. Don't let our money get wasted onto useless English Speaking Campaigns held by the blood-sucking government.
